The Nursery Remodel Completed!

I have finally finished with the remodeling of the nursery! I am just so excited to be finished and for our little one to arrive! I have a couple decorating items that I would like to add to the room, but those can always be a "work in progress". Here are some pictures of the journey of the remodel:

Before: Ugly wallpaper, lots of plants, and some pretty outdated furnature that I have picked up at garage sales. (Someday I am hoping to fix it all up, yet more projects I hope to accomplish!)

After: Removed the wallpaper, painted the wall, resurfaced the woodwork, made a new valance (which I will post directions for), and added the new baby furnature.

Before: Here is the bed that was in the room before:

After: And now it is a crib and toddler bed. Also, not to mention my awesome vinyl cut alphabet on the wall. Our kiddo will be saying his ABC's in no time!

Before:
A view from the other side of the room

After:
I just love the turquiose color! Also, I kept the one plant in the room because this plant has grown the best in the light in this room!
Well, that's all the before and after pics I have right now. On the other side of the room is the dresser/changing table, but because there is really nothing on the wall I decided not to take any pictures of it. I plan on making a collage of photos on the wall, but I need our little man to get here so I can include him in the collage.

Now that the room is finished, I guess I just play the waiting game. I am a very impatient person and the waiting drives me crazy, but it is all I can do until my little guy arrives.

The toddler bed just tickles my funny bone! Impatient is definetely an apt description. I'd recommend storing it for a few years and filling that spot with a rocking recliner; they're a great place for those sleepless nights. And besides, do you really want the constant reminder that your little one will only stay little for so long?

Thanks for the feedback on the toddler bed. I just didn't know what to do with it, so I just left it set up. I was going to put it in the closet, but I have that already full with other items that just won't come into play till he is older. Luckily I am only 5'4" so I can almost fit in that bed. I thought it might be a good place to breastfeed and take a nap....granted with my legs hanging off the bed!

It's very cute! I love the alphabet. I agree with Nikki. Get yourself a rocking chair. Well worth it! Good luck during the end of your pregnancy. It might not seem like it, but it will be over before you know it!

That's actually one of my next blogs, the rocking chair that I have been working on refinishing for a month now. Some genius decided to use Shellac as the top coat instead of a normal polyurethane and it has been a nightmare trying to sand it all off! I am hoping to have it done in a week or so and I will post pics of it.

Hi,

I love the alphabet vinyl prints you put on the wall. I am actually trying to do something very similar for my nursery. Can you tell me where you purchased these from. My email is sbassi@live.ca would love it if you got back to me shortly!

Thanks,
Sonu

I received them from Curzongraphics.com. They can customize the colors and the size of the spread based off your wall dimensions. Really they can make anything you want for vinyl cut. They have a machine that does it all and it's about 54" wide, so it goes pretty large.
